What Does Your Perfect Weekend Look Like?

When you picture the perfect weekend, what comes to mind?
For me (Mike), it’s simple: quality time with my family—completely unplugged. No phones buzzing, no screens flickering, just us. Whether we’re camping in the woods, tucked away in a cozy Airbnb, or even just enjoying a quiet weekend at home, the goal is the same: good conversations, laughter, and a chance to just be together. That kind of connection, uninterrupted by the outside world, is what fills my tank.
Jenni has her own vision of weekend perfection. For her, it involves fresh air and a little dirt under the nails—being surrounded by plants and nature while the kids run around playing games. Then later, winding down around the grill and roasting marshmallows over a fire. But like me, what matters most to her is togetherness. As long as the family is there, it’s a weekend well spent.

Now, if you ask the kids? Well, their answers make us laugh. Their dream weekend looks a bit different—filled with video games, VR headsets, and Xbox marathons. But even with their high-tech preferences, they all said something that made us smile: they want the whole family around, and they want us to be able to relax too. They may be plugged in, but they still crave connection.
It’s funny how different our definitions of “perfect” can be—and yet, how they all come back to the same thing: time together. Whether we’re hiking a trail, tending the garden, or passing the controller in a video game, the heart of it all is family.
