Day on Campus is Back
Day on Campus is Coming Soon!
One of the most anticipated days in the life of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is our annual Day on Campus. Each year, it provides us with the opportunity to both thank our faithful churches and ministry partners, as well as highlight all of the wonderful things God is doing through the ministry here. Even though the global pandemic kept us from meeting together personally the last three years, we are excited to announce that we are hosting an in-person Day On Campus on Saturday, March 25th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
We want to invite everyone to come and share this year’s Day On Campus with us. All are invited with a special invitation to our friends from the East Central, Atlantic Central and South East Districts. We again stress however that ALL ARE INVITED! Come and celebrate the Children’s Home. See for yourselves the wonderful work GOD continues to do here thanks to you!
Day on Campus is returning for 2023 on Saturday, March 25! Come and learn the latest news about our ministry and the impact your support is having on young lives. You’ll be able to tour the campus, attend special programming and performances featuring our youth, and enjoy a free picnic lunch.
Also returning this year will be special break-out sessions that will allow you to learn more about the work we do here at the Children’s Home. Seating for these sessions is limited, so be sure to RSVP soon! Sessions include:
· Foster Care Service at the Children’s Home
· What makes a trauma informed ministry?
· Planned Giving 101 with guest Certified Financial Advisors
Schedule of Events
· 9:00 Gates Open
· 9:30 Break-out sessions and tours begin
· 11:00 Program in the gym

Testimonial From A Child
“When I was younger, I was very embarrassed that my mother put my brother and me in the Children’s Home. When asked about where we lived, I would always find ways to skirt the question. I was embarrassed and ashamed that I lived in a children’s home. To be honest, it wasn’t until about 12 years ago that I realized that my time at the Children's Home was probably the best time of my life. It was the only time in my life that I could truly be a kid and not have the responsibility of taking care of my younger brother. It was a time when I felt safe, secure, and loved. Of course, I know why it embarrassed me – because I thought people would think I wasn’t worth loving, or that I must have been a really bad kid for my own mother to put us in a Children’s Home. However, her putting us there was probably the best thing she could have done for my brother and me. We were surrounded by people who truly cared for us, and it was a time I’ll never forget. On multiple occasions, I wish I could go back to.”
