Adult Groups

Groups are essential for growing in a relationship with Jesus,.  We need people we choose to trust to hold us accountable for growing in our love for God, love for others and how we share Jesus with the world. Consider one of the following possibilities for deepening your walk with Jesus. Our groups welcome people who may still be trying to figure out this "Christianity thing" to come and figure it out in community.

Bible Talk

Join us Sunday's after worship in Admin as we discuss the daily readings for the Chronological Bible in a Year Plan. If you haven't done the readings, it's ok. Join us anyway and jump in after. We'll watch a short video on the week's readings and then discuss. If you have any questions about what you read, bring them with you.

The nursery is open after worship for the Littles. Bring your elementary kids with you. We'll gather in Admin (the middle building).

Pace Island Group

The Pace Island group rotates between members houses each week. They meet on Sunday evening at 6pm. This group is currently watching a Bible Project video from the e100 plan, then discussing the passage for that week.

Group Celebrations and Happenings:

More to Life

The More 2 Life group meets Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the yellow room (323) in the sanctuary. Every week, participants gather to answer just one question: "How is your life in God?" Each one chooses to share or not how he/she has drawn close to God, experienced distance with God or has become closed off from God.  Everyone is expected to follow the Holy Spirit into the practices that build relationship with God.

Group Celebrations and Happenings:

Sisterhood of Grace

The Sisterhood of Grace is a monthly group of ladies that meet for multi-generational Christian fun. This is the perfect place for you if you'd like to make some friends, get out of the house, or simply have a reason to leave the kids with the husband or sitter.

Men's Ministry

Men of all ages are invited to join our brand new men's ministry. This group meets monthly to grow together spiritually, make new friends, and do service projects in the community. It doesn't matter if you've never been to a church group or if you've been a part of one for your entire life. All are welcome to discover the topic of spirituality with other men.

Men's Celebrations and Happenings:

Boomers (Retired Persons)

All retired persons are invited to join the montly meeting of the Boomers. This is an eat, socialize, and mission event all in one. Bring a dish to share over to the Admin Cafe (middle building). Enjoy a relazed time of eating and spending time with friends (long-time and new). After lunch, the group will do their mission project for Bannerman Learning Center. If you have questions, contact Karen.

Mom's Group

We are currently growing our Moms Group here at FIUMC. Our goal is to create an environment for moms to support each other in raising our kiddos while living out our love of Christ. We are currently holding a Morning Meet-up  once a month and are working on planning more in person events. We are also building our group virtually through our Facebook group and by doing Bible Plans together through the YouVersion app.

Visions for a New Year
February 1st, 2024
The women started the year off by reflecting now where they want their energy to go and how they want to improve their lives. How did they do that? They created Vision Boards. Deborah shared her Vision board and how it helped focus her after retirement. She then guided everyone through the process of setting our goals for the year. Everyone had a great time not only thinking about our goals, but p...

This past Sunday, the above video was shared in worship as a celebration of all God did in 2023 I thought I woud take a moment and expand on these numbers a bit more, sharing some stories behind them. For their December meeting, the Boomers (our older adults), went and toured Bannerman Learning Center. The Boomers are our newest group on campus and chose Bannerman to be their mission focus. On this occasion, we took a trip to the school to learn about their programs. ...

Do you like to hold a book? You can read the Bible like a devotional book. You just open to the date and there's your readi...
