The Power of Community

This Sunday, I began a new series on John Wesley’s Three Rules for Living a Holy Life as a Methodist. In my introduction, I emphasized how critical groups are to our spiritual growth.

If you missed the message, you can listen to it here:
One of the key themes you’ll hear in every message of this series is this: We need a group of people with whom we can be open and honest, who will challenge us to become the best versions of ourselves.

We are not meant to walk this journey alone. Even as pastors, we form groups with other pastors because no one is above the need for accountability. In fact, John Wesley himself was deeply committed to the practice of meeting in small groups, which he called “classes” and “bands,” to encourage one another in faith, confess struggles, and spur each other toward holiness.

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)

The Challenge: Find Your Group

It’s my prayer that over the coming weeks, we will form at least three new groups and help everyone in our church community find a group that fits their schedule and needs.

If you’re interested, fill out the form below so I can help match people together based on availability. Whether you’re new to this or have been part of a small group before, now is the time to commit to deeper relationships and accountability.

Go Deeper: Spiritual Growth is in Your Hands

A few weeks ago, I shared some book recommendations for those wanting to go deeper in their faith during this series. If you missed that article, Click Here to revisit it.

At the heart of this series is a simple truth:
You are the only one who controls your spiritual growth.

If you allow God to work in your life, you will grow. If you hold on too tightly to your time and priorities, you won’t. It’s that simple.

Jesus reminds us: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (NLT)

What steps are you taking to remain connected to Christ and His body, the Church? Who is walking alongside you on this journey?

As we move forward in this series, I encourage you to commit to:
✅ Finding a group
✅ Opening up to accountability
✅ Allowing God to stretch and grow you

Holiness isn’t about perfection—it’s about pursuing Christ together. Let’s take that step in faith!
