Kids Club is Growing!!

Back in August, I wrote a post about all of my God-sized dreams for Kids Club.  I had so much excitement for what I knew our program could be and what we could accomplish.  At first I was a bit discouraged because things weren't happening quite as quickly as I wanted them to or how I wanted them to go.  After a while, I realized something.  Things may not be going exactly how I wanted them to go but they were what God wanted them to be.  After that, I started checking my expectations at the door and handing the event, the activity, or whatever I was doing over to God.  It would be exactly what he wanted it to be.  All this to say, God has been doing amazing things in our children's ministry.  
There have been Sundays when we would have 6 kids, 2 of them being mine.  (Poor Eddie was starting to develop a complex because he would be scheduled to teach and he wouldn't have any kids show up.)  We had those 6 kids to pour love into and help know the love of Jesus.  And slowly we started growing.  
Palm Sunday we had 19 kids join us in Kids Club and Easter Sunday we had 20!  What is even more exciting is last week, which was not a special event or holiday, we had 16 kids in Kids Club!  I am so excited about this because it means not only are we developing relationships with some awesome kids we are also getting to know their families.  
With more kids attending Kids Club each week, it is time to expand our Kids Club Team!  We need some more adults (and teens) who would love to spend some time with these amazing kiddos!  

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in the following ways.  If you want to serve in Kids Club and one of these ways doesn't seem like a good fit for you, never fear, we can work together to find the perfect place for you.  

• Kids Club Greeter - Greeting children and their families at Kids Club Check-in, assisting with check-in & check-out, and helping new families find their child's classroom. Need: 1-4 times per month
• Preteen Substitute - Teach and lead our Preteen Class (4th-6th grade). Need 0-2 times per month
• Elementary Assistant Teacher - Assist in the Elementary Class (K-3rd grade).  Need: 1-4 times per month.  This would be a perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in teaching a Sunday morning class without having to lead the class yourself. 
• Nursery/Toddler Room Floater - Help out in the nursery (0-24 months) and the Toddler Room (2-4 yrs), as needed throughout the service. Need: 1-2 times per month
• Special Events Volunteer - Help out as an extra hand during holidays and special events a few times each quarter.

All children's ministry volunteers must pass a background check and complete our Child & Youth Protection training.
