Moment by Moment
Trust is hard because our life has taught us that we can’t trust. We’re born into this world trusting without another thought, but that trust gets broken as we grow. Sometimes, it’s little things, like a meal that looks good doesn’t always taste good. Then there are bigger things like some people we love don’t always return home to us.
If we’re going to take the next step God has in front of us, the only way we can do that is by trusting him. We have to trust that he is thinking of our best interests.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” –Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
What’s hard for us to admit is that we often feel like God has broken our trust. We expected him to do one thing, and he did another. It’s just like tasting new foods when we were young. Our spiritual expectations haven’t always met with reality.

“Take things moment by moment, and when you don’t know what to do, just do what comes next. Trust God to lead you a step at a time.” –The Red Sea Rules, by Robert J. Morgan (Rule 6)

- Do you feel God has broken your trust? When and how?
- When was the last time you trusted God with something big?
- How can you take today moment by moment?
