Stepping Out

We've come the long way 'round with our Red Sea journey. I hope you've learned some things you can hold into through the crazy of life. I pray that God challenged you in some way through Israel's challenges in your life. I'd love to hear what God has said to you. You can comment below or send your thoughts directly to me.

To close this series' devotions, consider this though:
So whether you are on the upper side or the underside of the storm, whether you are on the east bank or the west bank of the Red Sea, God will make a way. And as He does, don't forget to praise Him. –The Red Sea Rules, by Robert J. Morgan (Rule 10)

God made a way for Israel, so they praised him. We reflected on the praise songs Israel sang in the message Sunday. Reflect on Miriam's words again:
"Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced. And Miriam sang this song: 'Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea.'" –Exodus 15:20-21 NLT

Miriam not only praised God from her heart, but she also led others to join her as well. Is God leading you to step out of your comfort zone? Can you connect with others where God is taking you and make it a community thing? When you do life with a community, it's always easier.

Thoughts to Ponder

  • Where is God pushing you right now?
  • How can you gather with others for support and community around this?
  • Are you more like Moses or like Miriam?
