Day 13 Dunamis Wisdom

Week 2: Holy Spirit Presence

If you have the Dynamite Prayer book, today, you should be reading Day 13: Dunamis Wisdom. For the entire devotion, please pick up a book from the church or online.

Scripture Reading

Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 1:21-25 (NLT)
Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

Thoughts to Ponder (Dynamite Prayer)

  • Are you generally more apt to follow your own "wisdom" (or that of someone you know or even the crowd's), or is it your habit to pause and look heavenward, asking God for dynamos wisdom of the Spirit?
  • If God's wisdom is different than your own, which have you followed more often? Why?

Prayer

God, clear away any roadblocks of my own assumptions in order that the miraculous open road of your dunamis-filled wisdom may be revealed before me. Amen.
