Gifts from God

James 1:17 (NLT)

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Gifts from God come in all sorts of forms.

God blesses us with our talents. These talents may be musical, athletic, ability to teach, be a caregiver, be a witness, or be a friend. The list of talents is limitless.

These gifts may be a special someone in our lives. I know my husband and soulmate are truly a gift from God. A very special gift is the gift of a child, grandchild or great grandchild.

These gifts include the beauty that surrounds us. The gentle rain that washes the earth, the warmth of a sunny day, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, or the promise of the rainbow are all gifts for us to behold.

God’s mercy and forgiveness is not earned but a gift from God. The greatest and most perfect gift from God is the birth of his son Jesus Christ. As Christmas nears, we await the birth of our Savior.

Prayer: Gracious and Heavenly Father please open our hearts and minds to be ready to accept your gifts and your plans for our lives. Help us to use our gifts to help one another and further your kingdom. In Jesus name we pray.
