GROW DEEPLY - READ FAITHFULLY - LOVE ACTIVELY - EMBRACE WIDELY - SERVE IMPACTFULLY

Wesleyan Rooted is a comprehensive, five-part worship and spiritual formation journey that integrates many aspects of your congregation’s programs and ministries. For several months, a number of people from across the Conference have been working on all these components to make this shared experience powerful.

There is a worship component that provides recommended scriptures, themes, and sermon titles. It also suggests prayers and liturgies, contemporary and traditional music, and graphics for promotion and worship production.

A small group component also provides resources for people to gather in more personal settings outside worship for study, prayer, and mutual support. It also has spiritual practices that can be done privately or with others.

Our church has a children’s component uniquely tailored for young people, including a marvelous book specifically written for their age level.

Children's Resources

Our children will still be participating in their regular Kid's Club curriculum on Sunday mornings. However, on Wednesday Evenings, they will be learning with their parents about what it means to be Methodist. Some of the pastors in our conference have created a wonderful Kid's book titled: Big Hearts, Bright Love to help teach kids about our beliefs. This will be used to help teach them. If you would like to purchase a copy, you can do so here. All the proceeds from these books benefit Residing Hope (formerly the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. During the Wednesday Night Study, students 7th-12th grade are invited to enter into a confirmation journey for 5 weeks. This is an important season in a young person's life. These young men and women will learn about the foundations of Christianity by deconstructing the Apostles Creed, which is a concise summary of Christianity. They'll have an opportunity to ask questions and be encouraged to reflect on what it is they believe. At the end, we'll talk about what Baptism is and give each of them the choice to be baptized (or reaffirm their baptism) and be confirmed into the church.

If a student misses a class, they can stay connected with the curriculum by streaming the videos and processing the reflection questions on their own. It is recommended them miss no more than 2 of the 5 weeks to get the most out of this journey.
