Lent Devotional Book

It's hard to believe January is almost over. As February arrives, we have Valentines Day (2/14), then Ash Wednesday (2/22), which starts our season of Lent. If you've always wondered about Lent, this article is a great place to get you started.

During Lent, I always seek out a book that will deepen each person's spirituality that I can incorporate with my preaching. This year, I've chosen Lent in Plain Sight by Jill J. Duffield. You can purchase the book for around $10 on Amazon. (The church isn’t planning on purchasing copies, but if you need help getting one, please let us know.)
God is often at work through the ordinary: ordinary people, ordinary objects, ordinary grace. Through the ordinary, God communicates epiphanies, salvation, revelation, and reconciliation. It is through the mundane that we hear God’s quiet voice. The book, Lent in Plain Sight, draws readers’ attention to ten ordinary objects that Jesus would have encountered on his way to Jerusalem.

The goal of this group study will be to focus on spiritual lessons and recognize how the seemingly ordinary can reveal the extraordinary presence of God in our lives.
Inside this book, you’ll find a 2-3 page devotion for all 40 days of Lent, starting on Ash Wednesday (February 22). If you are in a small group already and your group wants to use the book, I can send you the free small group discussion guide.

Katie has put together a devotional book for our kids. It will be a great way for families to talk about what they're reading, deepening the spiritual conversations in the home.
I look forward to diving into this book with you. If you want to participate in this devotional, go ahead and order your copy. January has flown by. Before we know it, February will be done too.
Join our online , join our Lent in Plain Sight messaging group (not texting) so you can connect with others who are reading it too.
