March Is a Fifth Sunday Month!

Our first Fifth Sunday of 2024 is in March this year. These offerings began in 1906 as a way to raise funds to build an orphanage and continues to show the deep connection between the Children's Home and the local churches within the state. The Fifth Sunday Offering continues to be important to the Children's Home. As we rely on the generosity of churches and individuals to continue to support the ministry of the Children's Home as we seek to serve those who have experienced a variety of traumatic events.

This is the first time since 2013 that the Fifth Sunday lands on Easter. The next time will be in 2043! We realize how busy Easter worship is so we are suggesting that you consider promoting and taking up the Fifth Sunday offering on Palm Sunday, which is March 24th.

We ask that you promote the March Fifth Sunday Offering within the context of your church's worship service whichever Sunday you choose. Whether you received printed supplies, electronic supplies, or a combination of the two, you can use these resources to help highlight the wonderful ministry of the Children's Home that your church continues to support. The March Fifth Sunday poster and insert can be found on our website at www.fumch.org under the tab "Making a Difference" then "Church Relations." We will also have a Fifth Sunday video available to you soon, as this will be another tool to help celebrate the Children's Home. Thank you for your continued partnership, and we are excited to see how God uses your support to change more lives.
