The Link: Spotlighton Heart and Home

Brian found himself homeless until he learned about the Independent Living program at Residing Hope. After a year in the program, Brian is enrolled at Daytona State College and participating in a paid internship. Our Heart and Home Resale Shop celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this fall. Located just five miles north of our Enterprise campus in the Big Lots shopping center at the corner of Enterprise Road and State Road 17/92, the Heart and Home Resale Shop provides an extension of our ministry to Orange City and the surrounding area. Benefits of shopping at our Heart and Home Resale Shop are: you can curate a one-of-a-kind wardrobe, score high-quality goods at low prices, find your next priceless DIY project for next to nothing, donate goods to increase our inventory and support the children all while shopping! Proceeds go directly back to the ministry of Residing Hope and is a wonderful way for us to connect with the greater community.

We have a wonderful selection of items that you just may be looking for, and the inventory is constantly being updated. Plus, we are always looking for volunteers to help in the shop. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals and groups. In mid-November we had an inspiring afternoon at our annual Legacy Circle Luncheon! We celebrated our donors who have made provisions in their estate plans for Residing Hope! We enjoyed a delicious meal together, and our staff shared insights about the impactful programs we offer. Thank you to all of our Legacy Circle members for being a vital part of our journey and for helping us spread hope to our youth!

During November, a group of our youth attended a fall retreat at Warren Willis Camp, where they learned about "kiononia," or Christian community, and enjoyed various camp activities such as canoeing and high ropes!

We are incredibly grateful for your selfless generosity to Residing Hope during the Advent and Christmas seasons. We would not be able to care for the children and families we do without your support! In order for the timely close of our 2024 financial books, please ensure that all 2024 gifts are postmarked no later than January 6, 2025. This will allow us to quickly prepare ano publicize the 2024 Church Giving Report, as well as close out our 2024 financial records.
