Pumpkins are Coming

Our church has had a Pumpkin Patch for many years. Over the years, it has supported our youth, children, and women's ministries. The past couple of years, we've used it as a general fundraiser for the church.

It's much more than a fundraiser though. What we've learned over the past few years is that the Pumpkin Patch gives us an incredible opportunity to connect with people in our community. There are families who come every year to buy their pumpkins from us. We even have photographers who come and take pictures.

How You Can Help

There are many ways you can help at the Pumpkin Patch this year. We're looking for a new coordinator (person or team) to help record our sales each day and keep an eye on things. You don't have to be here the entire time things are open. This would be a great task for a small group to take on.

We'll be setting up the Pumpkin Patch after worship on October 6th. With many hands, this task can go pretty quick. We need to gather the items from Grace Place and the storage trailer, and put them in place, so we're ready when the pumpkins arrive.
The delivery truck is scheduled to arrive October 12th at noon. Pumpkin unloading can be a lot of fun. There are tasks for everyone no matter your age. We do ask that you dress to get dirty, bring work gloves, and if you can, a wagon or wheelbarrow. This will speed things up. Sometimes the truck is early, so we ask that everyone arrive at 11:30.

That's all the hard work until after Halloween. Working shifts at the Patch is pretty simple work. We schedule them with Signup Genius. During the week, they are 2 hour shifts and on the weekend, they are 3 hours. We ask that if your family is serving on the same shift, you sign them up on the same line. Students and children are welcome to serve with you, but you must stay with them.
Your help makes a big difference for our church. It connects us to the community and helps us raise funds for our ministries. Thank you, for helping us be the hands and feet of Jesus!
