To The Cross Preview
A Lenten Journey Through Luke
Lent is a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal—a time when we prepare our hearts to walk with Jesus through His journey of obedience, surrender, and love. This Lent, I am preaching a series called “To the Cross” because I believe the path Jesus walked has profound meaning for our lives today. As we move through the Gospel of Luke together, my hope is that we will not only learn about Jesus' journey, but experience it in a way that transforms our love for God and our daily discipleship.

Why I'm Preaching It
The Gospel of Luke offers a rich, detailed account of Jesus' life, ministry, and mission. From the very beginning, Luke paints a picture of a Savior who is deeply compassionate, committed to justice, and unafraid to call people into a radical life of faith.
This Lenten season, I want us to slow down and immerse ourselves in this story. I want us to hear John the Baptist’s call to clear the path for Jesus. I want us to stand in awe as Jesus reaches out to the brokenhearted, heals the sick, and challenges the comfortable. I want us to wrestle with the cost of discipleship and what it means to stay awake in faith, even when it’s difficult. Ultimately, I want us to walk with Jesus to the cross—not just as spectators, but as followers whose hearts are shaped by His love.
At its core, this series is about loving God more deeply. Jesus’ journey from the wilderness to the cross was an act of complete surrender to the Father’s will. His love for God fueled His every step, and as we study His story, my prayer is that we, too, will grow in our love for God—learning to trust Him more fully, surrender more completely, and live more boldly for His Kingdom.

Going Beyond the Sermon
Sundays are just the beginning. To truly engage with this journey, I encourage you to take time throughout the week to reflect, pray, and apply what we’re learning. Here are a few ways to go beyond the sermon and make this series a transformative experience:
? Study the Book of Luke with Us – We’re diving deep into Luke’s Gospel each week. Read along, journal your thoughts, and join a small group to discuss what you’re discovering.
? Daily Reflection & Prayer – Take a few moments each day to reflect on what God is speaking to you. Ask Him to show you areas in your life where He’s calling you to deeper surrender.
? Live It Out – As we see Jesus’ love in action, let’s embody that same love. Look for ways to serve, show kindness, and extend God’s grace in your daily life.
I’ll have five copies of each book available on Sunday if you’d like to check them out before purchasing. There is a study that goes along with it, which you can find below. I’m excited to unpack these concepts with you and see how they strengthen our faith and mission!
