Smiling Down
We had October 16 marked on the calendar for a few weeks. When I got up that morning, the weather had become chilly, but that wouldn't stop me from baptizing Michael at his home. His family and friends had been waiting for this day. I'll admit I wasn't sad he decided not to get fully into the pool.
The following Sunday, October 22, we welcomed the entire family into our church. But one person was missing. David, Tracy's husband and Michael's grandfather, watched the events, smiling from heaven. If you were to ask Tracy, Stacy, or Tim, they would tell you that they didn't imagine when they started coming to our church that we would walk with them through David's cancer journey.
I feel so blessed to know this group. They love deeply, have a wonderful sense of humor, and give their hearts to what's important to them. Be sure to introduce yourself if you still need to.
