Residing Hope: Daniel's Story
Daniel's Story
After being removed from his biological home and experiencing a failed placement, Daniel came to Residing Hope. Watch as Daniel talks about how the support he has received is helping him heal and become successful.
Kandie (pictured above) and her younger siblings were removed from their biological home. The children were placed in a pre-adoptive home but the prospective parents decided they did not want the challenges of a teenager so returned Kandie to our care.
Kandie, of course, was devastated and heart-broken to be in our care; despon- dent and discouraged, she gave up hope in finding a forever family. However, through equine therapy at the Madison Youth Ranch, she began to make major adjustments and improvements.
The first year in our care, she just missed winning the academic award. That just served to inspire her to get to work and this past year she was one of two residents who received the academic award of time at the beach, Disney World and Sea World!
Kandie’s story doesn’t end there. She started asking questions about God. She decided to go through Confirmation at a local church, made a profession of faith to Jesus Christ and was baptized!
It turns out, she had not given up hope on a forever family and the Madison staff began praying for her daily. Just before Easter, a couple who had long desired to adopt, met Kandie as they colored Easter eggs together. Last fall, her adoption was finalized!
Praise God! This devastated, demoralized, hopeless child had come to know Jesus in our care and developed a new sense of hope and a brighter future thanks to our friends who invest in the lives of our children each and every day.
Thank you for your partnership in bringing this ministry of hope and healing to so many children and families!
