Reflections on a Week of Scuba
What an amazing week we had at Scuba VBS! We asked the kids to share God sightings, so I want to take a moment and share some God Sightings of mine.
Our New Sensory Room
Last year for VBS, I was one of a couple of adults that did our very best to help some of our new friends find a place during VBS when the music was too loud or the environment was too overwhelming. In the past year, we've made this a priority within our ministry and Katie got the new sensory room ready to be used right before VBS. We're calling this expansion of our Kid's Ministry: Kid's Club Unlimited. I watched as we created plans so that every child felt they could participate without feeling like we didn't have space for them. This not only made the week feel more manageable, it brought so much joy to the families who used the space. I can't wait for all the things this ministry will do!
Our Volunteers' Flexibility
To say that we have the best volunteers is an understatement! They spent weeks beforehand creating decorations, planning snacks and games, and ensuring the week would be smooth. The week before, they were up here transforming the church into an underwater experience. All week long, they showed love and compassion to every child. Then, most of them came back to our worship night and spent time with the families of those children too.
Thank you! You made all the difference in each and every day.

The Worship Night
I can't express how blessed I was by the worship night. First, thank you to V's Pizza who donated our pizza for the evening. If you stop over to eat there, please thank them again for us.
We switched our VBS celebration to the evening 3 years ago so that we could have an opportunity to spend time with our families. The number of people isn't what measures success but the relationships built.
VBS Makeup:
Each chance we have to show God's love and who we are as a church to someone who doesn't have a church home is worth it. I'd ask you to be in prayer for the 1/3 of families who might be seeking a church. If we could be the right fit for some of these families, our prayer should be that God will allow some of our other events to draw them back in.

Thanks again everyone for doing a fantastic job!
