5th Sunday Info
This month is a month with 5 Sundays, which means we're collecting for the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. In light of that, I wanted to share two stories from the Children's Home so you can see what impact your gifts make:
Ways you can support the Children's Home:
I have one more story to share. Hear how the Children's Home helped Denaijah after high school, who is now a nurse, by watching the video below.
Emily (pictured) is 12 years old and has been living at the Madison Youth Ranch for the past two years after multiple failed foster placements. She had to be removed from her biological home due to abuse, and her biological parents’ rights were terminated shortly thereafter.
When Emily first came to the Youth Ranch, she was very withdrawn and suspicious of all adults. She was introduced to the Equine Assisted Therapy program at the Youth Ranch. Caring for the horses helped her open up, and she has genuinely thrived since that time.
The best part of her story is yet to come. She has been matched with an adoptive family and has begun the visitation process that should lead to her being placed in a forever home. We cannot fully express our gratitude for your continuing partnership with us which enables such transformation to occur. Thank you for giving to impact lives like Emily's.
Ways you can support the Children's Home:
- Donate through the offering basket and note UMCH on the gift
- Donate through our Online Giving and Select UM FL Children's Home
- Save your old luggage. Any time you have luggage that you don't need, bring it to the church. We can send it to the children, who usually arrive at the home with their belongings in a bag.
- Participate in the Christmas Gift Card Collection.
